Sugar Cain was born in an Arizona USA copper mining camp Company hospital. Her mom and pop, both professional Pharmacists, had moved there when they were newly married to run the drug store pharmacy. Sugar's first words were a mix of English and Spanish .. and her first steps near the rim of the Grand Canyon. She's loved living dangerously ever since!
     While she was still a baby, the family moved to Denver Colorado where her grandparents lived. At an early age she had already become very familiar with the Rocky Mountains and the towns of Aspen, Leadville, Telluride, Breckenridge, and Frisco where her grandfather had gold mines.
     She attended grade and high school in suburban Denver. Her dad had his own drug store by now and Sugar learned early on the fine art of the 'soda jerk' and how to ring the cash register.
     'Show Biz'.. the bug hit hard.... countless kiddie shows...acting..tap dancing.. ballet recitals.. playing the accordion and drums.. not to mention movie attendance several times a week guided her toward her future.
     At age 15 she received a scholarship (for her acting work) to attend Colorado Woman's College (DU). There she majored in Drama and Journalism and received a degree of AS (Associate in Science). While in school she was Advertising Editor for the nationally prized 'Western Graphic' college newspaper, and honored into Beta Phi Gamma, Journalism Fraternity. ..Part time work in Denver radio stations KLZ and KOA and Modeling in Department Stores were college jobs. Her first full time job in show biz was at KFBC, Cheyenne Wyoming.. writing ad copy. Here she produced 3 series of her own shows..'Blue to You'..'Fashion on Parade'...and 'Children's Specials'. These all aired in Wyoming statewide and on Regional Network.
 

 

Moving on.. she returned to College at the University of Washington (Seattle) majoring in Mass Communications graduating with a BA (Bachelor of Arts). Her education continued at Columbia University in New York City in the Masters Program of Mass Communications.
     While at Columbia Sugar worked with Mary Ellen Butte (early woman filmmaker) and Mary Ellen's husband Cinematographer, Ted Nemeth. It was at this time Sugar wrote, directed, produced, and acted in 'RAMA' as a thesis project. As actress, Sugar traveled the USA and Canadian Shubert and Nederlander Theatre Circuits. ..St. Louis,, Cincinnati.. Norfolk.. Denver.. New Haven.. Baltimore.. New Orleans..Detroit.. Cleveland.. Toronto.. in shows 'Pajama Tops' and 'In One Bed and Out the Other'.
     She traveled Mexico and South America in her own revue 'Sugar and Spice'. ..Numerous TV shows and Movies followed.. and a successful Model-Spokeswoman career with ads and covers in magazines throughout Europe, the Americas, Canada, and Asia...see GALLERY.. RAMA.. MOVIES.. THEATRE..CABARET
