Sugar
Cain was born in an Arizona USA copper mining camp Company hospital.
Her mom and pop, both professional Pharmacists, had moved there
when they were newly married to run the drug store pharmacy.
Sugar's first words were a mix of English and Spanish .. and
her first steps near the rim of the Grand Canyon. She's loved
living dangerously ever since!
While she was still a baby, the family
moved to Denver Colorado where her grandparents lived. At an
early age she had already become very familiar with the Rocky
Mountains and the towns of Aspen, Leadville, Telluride, Breckenridge,
and Frisco where her grandfather had gold mines.
She attended grade and high school
in suburban Denver. Her dad had his own drug store by now and
Sugar learned early on the fine art of the 'soda jerk' and how
to ring the cash register.
'Show Biz'.. the bug hit hard.... countless
kiddie shows...acting..tap dancing.. ballet recitals.. playing
the accordion and drums.. not to mention movie attendance several
times a week guided her toward her future.
At age 15 she received a scholarship
(for her acting work) to attend Colorado Woman's College (DU).
There she majored in Drama and Journalism and received a degree
of AS (Associate in Science). While in school she was Advertising
Editor for the nationally prized 'Western Graphic' college newspaper,
and honored into Beta Phi Gamma, Journalism Fraternity. ..Part
time work in Denver radio stations KLZ and KOA and Modeling
in Department Stores were college jobs. Her first full time
job in show biz was at KFBC, Cheyenne Wyoming.. writing ad copy.
Here she produced 3 series of her own shows..'Blue to You'..'Fashion
on Parade'...and 'Children's Specials'. These all aired in Wyoming
statewide and on Regional Network.
